Employment Opportunities:

Because of the climate in Alberta, Lahrmann can only do asphalt work from April to November during the construction season. 

We are always interested in experienced applicants for the following positions:

Asphalt Plant Personnel

Experience in any aspect of plant operations is considered in asset to Lahrmann Construction.

Field Technicians

Lahrmann employs asphalt testers and surveyors. There may be positions available for experienced asphalt testers and construction surveyors.

Duties include:

  • GPS survey staking for baseline
  • centre line for construction and painting
  • asphalt, aggregate, and compaction testing.

A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Truck Drivers

A variety of positions requiring class 1 or 3 licenses are available at Lahrmann Construction Inc.

Opportunities include:

  • Tandem drivers
  • Tri-axel end dump drivers
  • Oil distributor operators
  • Water Truck driver
  • Equipment Hauling

Driving positions may include varying levels of labour and drivers are expected to contribute to the team effort.

The following skills are definite assets:

  • Experience with heavy equipment
  • Working in a road construction environment

Heavy Duty Mechanics & Servicemen

Lahrmann requires mechanics and servicemen for our wide range of road building equipment. Applications from first year apprentices to experienced journeymen are accepted.

  • Class 3 licenses are required for service positions.
  • Experience in the industry may be considered in lieu of certificates.

Experienced Asphalt Personnel

Lahrmann has opportunity for workers with asphalt experience. This includes general labour, rakermen, roller operators, screed, and paver operators.

Equipment Operators – Loader / Grader

There are opportunities for experienced loaders, graders, and packer operators in different capacities on our paving crews. Experience operating multiple machines is an asset.

Flag Persons

Lahrmann requires people to be responsible for traffic control on the construction site. We accept entry level and seasoned flagger's applications. We will provide training and uniforms, but employees must have:

  • a Class 5 driver's license.
  • transportation to possibly remote jobsites.
  • CSA approved steel-toed boots.
  • the ability to stand for long periods.

Applicants must be prepared to:

  • work outside.
  • work 80 hours a week.
  • work from April to November.
  • live in a camp or hotel.
